Diane Mancinelli directs the Henry Ford Community College Dance Program and Full Circle Dance Company (FCDC). She holds B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit. She is the recipient of the Dearborn Mayor’s Arts Educator Award and has received the Distinguished Service to the Arts Award from the State of Michigan and the City of Farmington Hills.
Ms. Mancinelli has produced and directed 23 Annual Spring Dance Concerts at HFCC and continues to have a full season of performances both on and off campus. Ms. Mancinelli has also choreographed over 25 dances for FCDC and continues to compose for various venues during the performance season. In addition, she has created and produced three dance concerts for children, D is for DANCE; Food for Thought; and T’was the Night Before Christmas.
Aside from a full time college teaching load, her dance company direction, and her work in dance and theatre for young audiences, she has choreographed numerous musicals at HFCC including, The Wiz, Music Man, Pippin, Cabaret, Oklahoma!, Damn Yankees, South Pacific, Finian's Rainbow, and Little Mary Sunshine.
Ms. Mancinelli directs programs off campus in schools and other venues and brought the college dance company to Italy to perform for the country's biggest summer festival in 2001. She takes the HFCC Full Circle Dance Company on an annual trip to the American College Regional Dance Festival. The dance company has participated at universities in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Texas over the last 15 years, where they have had opportunities to perform and attend performances; take master classes and have their own student choreography adjudicated.
Making a difference in the lives of her students is the single most important award that Ms. Mancinelli receives.
